Post by furnacedoc » Sat May 17, 2014 7:36 pm

HELP, Has anyone replaced the right handlebar switch on a gl1500se? I am in the middle of trying to do this and it appears like I need to remove the air duct that runs thru the fairing to the outlet below the air compressor switches. . Can anyone Give me info to get this job done? Thanks for any help. See ya on the road

I gave you info earlier about this, that taking the air ducting out was the simplest way to do this job.

What seems to be your sticking point??

How does the air duct come out I removed the 2 screws but it wont come out. do I have to remove the whole bottom assembly on the front of the fairing?

Once you have the screw and bolt(s) removed, you have to wriggle and twist it and pull until it comes out. I think I may have removed the sub air filter housing as well.

For the air ducts on both left and right side, I had all the plastic off, the CB and Air Pressure gizmo out, and had the wiggle the crap outa getting the air ducts, and then the same "wiggle the crap" to get them back in. I thought I was really going to break stuff, but I didn't..... as far as I know.
