relay for fuel gauge, reverse indicator lights

Postby CLEE » Fri Jun 06, 2014 6:38 pm

this 10 amp relay blows. I may drive the bike 200 miles or only 10 miles and it may blow. Any ideal what may be causing this relay to blow? This is a 1998 Goldwing 1500 trike

sounds like a short..worn wire cover that grounds sometimes..??? put a fuse in and start wiggling the wires in that circuit. Trike who knows how the wiring has changed...

I too had issues with this same circuit and blowing fuses. Ended up getting a circuit breaker style fuse to save money while trouble shooting. Best $8.00 I spent. Got mine from NAPA. Saved lots of fuses. There is something definitely grounding somewhere and you'll just have to dig into it wiring to find it. My issue was the stupidity of the PO and some additional wiring he had down. Good luck and try to be patient (if you can).
