replacement speakers for 95 1500 SE

Postby customeyes » Sat May 22, 2010 1:30 pm

I am looking to upgrade my speakers from stock. There lots of choices and I would like some opionions. There are 30 watt and 70 watt speakers, what would be best. Also do I need the pigtail for the replacements or can I use the existing one on the bike

The best thing to do is to get speakers that approximate the same power handling as what is in there already, because they're matched to the output capability of the amplifier. Putting higher power speakers in will usually result in quieter sound, requiring you to turn the volume up, which can drive the amp into clipping, which will blow the speakers.

A lot of the time you can use the existing connectors, depending on what is on the OEM.

How do I go about finding out what is on there now. They factory stock. Would it be in the manual?
