Re: goldwing 1500 seat
Bill....I'm 6'2''......we've just started looking for a trike.....the first one I rode had a Corbin? seat which put me way too close to the fairing. I'm told theres more leg room on a 1500 vs the 1800. I was hoping seats were adjustable to give me more leg room. What do tall guys do in my situation? Thanks for your reply

I don't think you would have a problem with the 1500 at 6'2" - depending on where your height is. I am 6'0", but I have long legs and shorter arms, which means in every car I drive, in order to have the seat at a comfortable position for my legs, my arms are stretched out straight. I am quite comfortable on the 1500. The 1800 gives me sore knees.
You do have options - you can have a custom seatmaker make or modify a seat to move the front seat bolster back an inch or two, which will move you away from the handlebars.

Re: goldwing 1500 seat
I am 6' 2" myself. The guy I bought my 1500 from was 6' 6" and he had his knees up under his chin with the stock seat. Also, because of his position, his wife didn't have much room to set comfortably. So he moved the trunk back 3 inches and had a seat made to fit. I don't remember the name of the company, but its on the seat. I have to pull it off in a couple of days to service my air cleaner before I start on a long trip. I will get the name and contact info an post it here. I also understand that there is quite a difference in the seating position between the 1500 and the 1800. I have never ridden an 1800 but perhaps someday I will. Considering, my 88 1500 only has 63,000 miles on it and I am about to add another 5 or 6K to that. I think if and when I do get another bike, I will stick with the 1500, just find a later model with low mileage. This might give you some ideas. Just checked, my seat is a Russell with Gray Volure inserts. Very comfortable seat. https://www.day-long.com/gallery_Honda.html

Re: goldwing 1500 seat
I am about 6'4" and just like everybody says the 1500 is much more comfortable than the 1800 for the taller person. I have both the 1500 and 1800 and my knees touch the dash. On the flip side my wife is 4'-9 1/2 and she rides a trike. WE had to add some cushion to the deal.

Re: goldwing 1500 seat
First I want to say ''I'm sorry'' for not getting back to you GW Doc folks much sooner!! I litterly have been running the countryside looking for the right 1500 trike. Since last posting here, I've put 2000 miles on my car.....1000 of it pulling a trailer to bring back a bike which I left in Lexington Ky. I finally settled on a beautiful 2000 1500 which I rode back from Ft. Wayne In. to my home near Grand Rapids mi. on July 3 amongst all the folks racing to their holiday destinations. The info and advice you gave me were invaluable. The bike I bought has a Diamond seat and is doing a very nice job for my wife and I......and she's no 4'-9'' either.....more like 5'-10''. We fit, but I'm going to look into finding a link on ''how to'' move the trunk back 3''...I think that would really help.
So again Goldwing Doc folks.....THANK YOU AGAIN for all your replies.....we REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT.
