Hello. I just bought 1988 gl1500. I notice a noise or chater like a belt was loose. Bike was running well. Stop for gad got going in 3rd sputtered n shut off. Tried to start dead battery. Replaced battery fired rite up. Drive 75 miles same thing shut off dead battery. Let sit for 15 mins fired up drove 15 miles shut off.Im sure I was running off new battery with no current from alt . My question is. Is a honda car alt the same a my gl1500. I waS told. Lol that it is same a honda car 1.9 ltr engine. Thank you

No, it is not. There is an aftermarket (Compufire) alternator that is derived from an automotive alternator application, but it is not a Honda.
