foot peg extenders?

Postby tdjklove » Mon Jun 30, 2014 9:20 pm

I have a 1990 1500, and the fairing seems to stick out further than my old 1200. I was given some hiway pegs and after installing them I noticed that they didn't extend past the fairing! I've been to several bike shops but no one seems to have encountered this before. I need to extend the footpegs out another 6 inches. There are all kinds of things to move them forwards or backwards. Nothing available to get them out further from the engine! Anyone else found a way to resolve this dilemma?

There is a review of Mick O Pegs that shows a different way to install them:

and there is a blow by blow way of installing them:

It might give you the inspiration needed to try something.

Heres a mod a gentleman did on an 1800 so possibly it might work on yours also.

Maybe you can find something like this to help out with the offset. Personally, I better get more for my $53, but if this is all that would work for me, I'd buy it.
