what siz(wattage) headlights?

Postby steve allen » Sat Jul 05, 2014 10:48 pm

I want to change headlight bulbs, because low beam is burned out anyway, and I have 94 GL1500SE and not sure what the correct bulbs are? And, how much can I increase without modifications? The book says stock is 45/45.....not totally sure what that means. Can I replace with 55/60 without problems? Thanks, Steve

Yup, use the 55/60. No mods needed for the '94 Wing.

Been using the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs on my 96' with no issues....could have gone with the Ultras...but I didn't! Happy with what I got!

Only issue I have with auto bulbs, is they won't last long. I tried these bulbs in my aspy 1200 on low beam most of the time.....they lasted about 45 days. And, yes, I did run the ultras! I downloaded the lifetime span of these, and was shocked that they are averaging 1250-1500 hours. I ride everyday year round, got to be better bulbs for me. I ordered some this morning that supposed to last 25,000-30,000 hours and have a life time warranty. Time will tell, Thanks for all the info and help, you guys here are a blessing to me.

The auto bulbs have lasted 4-6 years for me...Ride almost everyday...not much better to me!

I never had a problem with auto bulbs either. Used them for years. Now I'm using HID and am very happy with them.

Thats great! I just didn't have such luck with them. I rode over 73,000 miles in the past 3 1/2 years on my 1200, and so far, don't see that to lessen with the 1500 I just bought. I'll see how these bulbs I ordered work and will pass it on. Thanks, Steve

I use the Silverstars Ultra bulbs and replace them about every 3 years.
I ride about 10-12 thousand miles per year (although that is way down this year) on average
