Vacuum Line

Postby seelyark1 » Tue Jul 15, 2014 3:50 pm

On the left side of a GL1500, there is a vacuum line that has to be removed to sync the carbs. Where does this line go to, and should it hold a vacuum if tested by applying a vacuum? I assume (You know the old saying) that it should hold the vacuum if it is good. I can hear a whistle at about 1500 rpm. Did the carb sync the other day and noticed that the miss I have was not there with this line disconnected and plugged. Sure would make for some easy trouble shooting if I know where it goes, as it is in there amongst all that "stuff" on the left side. Wish I had stopped and thought about it while I was changing plugs! May just move changing timing belts a little farther up the list of things to do. Thanks all..

Boy your guess would be as good as mine...I seem to remember a vacuum line on the left that feeds the cruise tho...No guarantee....sorting out the plumbing is a daunting task at best...There is some info somewhere I'm sure...

Manual says #6 Green vacuum line, but sure looks like it is pointing at #6 plug wire
