Postby TerryRuth » Sat Jul 26, 2014 4:06 pm

Bikes been bottoming out harsh .. decided to change oil.. and heard should have 6 psi air.. well after I pulled 1 cap off .. all went haywire ...spring stayed ...found the cap ..a washer .. and a spacer tube...........dont know what else...how am i going to thread the cap back on?
also NO definite answer on what type oil and appears a 95 SE uses no air
Washer goes between cap and spacer?

HERE YOU GO

Getting it back on can be challenging next time just remove the the air valve. Jack up the bike with the wheel off the ground so there is no pressure on the springs. w/o spacer in place start the cap note the place where the cap threads catch on cap and the tube. Put it all back in. Then line up your marks..cap/tube and push the cap into place and turn enough to catch the threads..helps to stand on the pegs, gives you leverage, using a socket with a extender shaft helps too, so you are well above the handlebars.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83

FAIR WINDS,
