Cruse Control Resume

My cruse control works great except for the "resume" part of the operation. When cruse is activated I can push the accel and it works fine. But if I disconnect using the clutch or brakes and still going 55+ MPH the resume does nothing???? OH, 1996 SE.
Thanks,

I thought I had this same problem with my '96 but realized I had to hold the accel button for 2-3 seconds for it to rusume.

My 1st thought would be a dirty switch.

Thank You. I think you are both right. I went for a long ride today and was able to get it working correctly as the day went on. First I had to hold it and move it around and it would work intermittently. By the end of the day it was working as it should..

Sounds like the next rainy day, you will be able to clean and grease (with electrical grease) all of your switches to fill in the day while you are not out riding.

Those momentary cruise buttons do tend to get dirty. Next maintenance time, open up the switch housing and spray a shot of plastic-safe CRC QD contact cleaner into each one. That will fix them up.
