Idles but dies when you twist throttle

Post by Brett1991 » Sat Aug 16, 2014 6:25 pm

In my previous post I had stated that I was getting no fuel from the fuel pump. That has been rectified. Now it will idle but as soon as I twist the throttle it dies.

Is fuel filter good ?
Air filter ?

Dying when throttle twisted sounds like lack of fuel / fuel pressure, or too little air in the air fuel mixture.

Could also be a vacuum leak.

Update
Took it out on the road today; thought it might blow out what's ailing the bike. Will only start with choke on and only gets to 55mph. That's with the throttle all the way open. I need to look at the plugs and see what they look like. Possible carb issues?

They running Seafoam or BG 44K through the fuel system, MIGHT just need a cleaning.

Odds are its a vacuum leak that is causing the problem. Could be lack of fuel also. Pull a plug from each bank and post a pick of them.
