1988 GL 1500 H885. front radio volume

Postby jenagle » Sun Aug 24, 2014 11:14 am

I was searching through EBAY for radio stuff, and came across "1988 Honda GL1500 Goldwing GL 1500 H885. front radio volume knob". I'm new to the GL 1500, and wonder what this is. Is it specialized to the CB or radio or what?

I also saw a different style radio than the one in my bike. It only has four knobs, and seems rather plain. They claimed it came from a 1995 GL 1500. What's this about? Any history would be appreciated.

Thanks. John

The GL1500 Interstate has a radio with no cassette player.
The pyramid shaped item with a knob on the dash is a fader knob.

Does fader mean front to back?

Yup, you will have to make sure you already have speakers in the back before hooking the fader up (of course). I have one of those to install also, I bought the rear speaker kit with fader, and the wires broke at the fader knob board....ugh. Figure the fader housing is better to use anyway, and I need to paint it to match the bike (now that the vinyl is all painted a different dark brown).

Thanks to all for the quick response. I have an 89, and it has the cassette deck. I just am not yet familiar with all the permutations that the different years have.

Again, thanks
John
