New guy with a question...

Postby 97 GreenManiac » Mon Aug 25, 2014 8:35 pm

Just got a 97 Aspencade Motor Trike....we are enjoying the bike a lot...
my question is, what is this knob between the firecreek gauges....its a turnable knob and has about ten wires connected to it....as far as I can tell turning the knob does nothing....any thoughts on this would be helpful...here are pics of the back side of the panel...

Could that be a fader knob for the front and rear speakers

Looks like a fader control. Does it have any affect on rear speakers.

Definitely looks like a fader, it's a ganged potentiometer, which is exactly what is used for the fader.

I was going to guess that it changes the rotation of the earth but the fader seems more correct.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

Yep, you guys hit the nail on the head ...it was the fader....don't know why I didn't notice any change to the radio before....I think even cbx4evr got close to..I turned the knob once and I swear the earth slowed a little...lol
Thanks all of you

Well its me again ..... I tried my radio again to see if the knob made any difference, and it definitely does not make a difference....I still believe it could be a fader that doesn't work....I will probably try to trace the wires to see where they go.....any other thoughts?

If it is Fader, wires will go down the left side of the bike (if you are sitting on it). There is a connection there that it clips in to.

They are known to go bad.
you will have to remove the tupperware and radio to find where they go. Do you have the repair manual? #1 tool.
