Pretty hard to tell what that is. Could you perhaps describe what it is? Looks like it's perhaps part of the latch in the saddlebag?

Yeah...I've looked at part #39 in the blowups of every model of 3 different years of Glowing and they all show a different part from the one you identified in the image in your post. What bike are you working on?

Is it a cable stay.?
There to hold a wire harness in place.?

1992 Goldwing A the part is the nuts for the the saddle bag not the lid nuts it is for the latch on bag side left side rear latch

I had a good look on bikebandit, it seems 2 model of GL1500 (the L & Special edition) in 1992 had that bracket, but bikebandit does not list the part as being available.. You might need to contact a bike breaker and see if you can find one, or just make the part yourself, it doesn't look very complicated, if you have the original part to use as an example it should be easy. I don't know what else to suggest.

I have the part but can not see how to get it in. looks like it was moulded in to the bag .
