while riding my bike it just died. I pulled over and checked main fuse plus all others. after about half hour the bike started and I was able to ride home (about 3 miles). Turned the bike off and it wou't restart. later it started.

When a bike suddenly dies,I usually suspect a electrical problem....
Not like it is running out of gas, just like you turned the key off....
If this is your case,Possible problem is loss of volts to the ignition system..
Possible causes...
Relay #6,,(ignition/cruise relay)Replace it
Engine stop switch (kill switch)clean it
Fuse #11 (15 amp ignition,start)inspect it
Bank angle sensor..bypass to test or replace.
Confirm the theory first....When it quits or wont start, pull one spark plug wire, put on a spare plug...crank the engine and see if there is spark....check the battery volts...expect at least 11.5 volts on the battery during cranking.

Side note: the battery must stay above 10.5 volts to get the spark....If your losing volts due to a bad dog bone fuse or alternator, the ignition system will fail....

Don't forget the bank angle sensor.

To: Virgilmoble...great advise. I changed Relay #6 -ignition/cruise relay and rode the bike for thirty miles with no problems. Thanks :D
