Postby Mr C » Thu Dec 04, 2014 4:26 pm

Hi Guys (Girls) I have a 1993 GL 1500 SE and the radio is not very loud. You can just hear it on tick over but and still to quiet to hear when plugged into headset. Any ideas !!!!! Thanks.MR C

Just out of interest - does your clock keep time, and radio presets work when the bike is turned off?

Also, make sure the Mute button isn't pressed in.

The mute works fine not sure about pre set stations but have to set the clock every time i go out. Would the fact that the cassette has a tape stuck in it make any difference!!

Aha. OK, you've got a blown fuse. Open the relay box (next to the fuse box) - you'll likely have to loosen the left saddlebag to do it. You'll find a 5-amp fuse in there that will be blown. Replace it and your quiet sound (and clock set) problem will be fixed. Oh, and your cassette tape will likely come out as well! :)

Hi there I have now replaced the fuse as suggested and am pleased to say that it has done the trick. :D Speakers are louder ,clock stays set and the cassette door opens and the tape comes out. Took me about an hour, seat off side panel off and yes loosen the saddlebag. Thanks for your help.
A vey happy Mr C :D
