Master clutch Cylinder

Postby bohdan » Mon Jan 05, 2015 10:11 pm

Greetings Goldwingers. Just replaced the entire slave unit on my 93. Opted to go withou mity vac and pump it. Clutch worked before. Now I pumped the crap out of it and got fluid and ultimately no air. But the clutch lever is so soft there is no resistance. Would this lead me to rebuild the master cylinder? Like it isn't compressing the fluid any thoughts? Mighty obliged

Since you got fluid to the bleeder, the master would seem to be working. Sounds like the slave isn't giving resistance to the fluid for whatever reason. I would double check the slave installation first.

You didn't say if the output from the bleeder is a strong or weak stream. How much is coming out during every squeeze?

Yeah, there was zero resistance in the clutch. Fluid was coming out per one hand pump maybe a half inch in the tube.. The other thing was that once I closed the bleeder valve, pumped it a few times, I should have gotten a PSSSSSSSTTTTT. out of the bleeder valve. What I got was psst if even. But then again,I shouldn't treat this like the front brake. I guess the theory is when one puts the clutch in, it presses the piston against the rod..... I am so lost...... Mighty obliged
