Is the red line, or close to it, the limiter, or is Rbgerson situation just a coincidence?

I think it's 6,000 RPM, but I don't know this for 100% sure. It's not mentioned in the owner's manual or the service manual.

Yes, that is when mine cuts in.
I'll hit the limiter probably 10 - 12 times per season

Like Dusty, I test my rev limiter multiple times a year. It seems to kick in right around 6000rpm. I dont really watch my tach. I listen to the engine............ occasionally when it hits the limiter the first thing that goes through my mind is " what the heck is wrong with this thing? oh ya its the rev limiter" then I grab another gear and off I go again............. 8-)
Ride safe, Todd

I too have tested my rev limiter a few times this last riding season, and on my bike, it acts up for a mile or so AFTER I get out of the limiter and "Drive Right" again.not sure if that is normal or not, but it is what mine does. After riding Cruisers and Sport Bikes for so long, I can not HEAR my motor as it comes up on the limiter, so I have learned to watch the tach ! lol
