89 gl1500 choke cable replacement

Postby mothership » Fri Feb 06, 2015 1:11 pm

Cable has been pinched for a while. Do I have to get all the way down to removing my carbs to replace the cable.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Do you really have to use the choke all the time?

Carb removal is not required to replace choke cable but you will need to have a small inspection mirror to see where the hold down screw is. A proper stubby/angled/ratcheting phillips bit/driver is also required for the tight working space.
This is what I do
