How much of the Tupperware has to come off?

Postby bohdan » Sun Feb 15, 2015 7:16 pm

Greetings fellow wingers. Well, looked at all the posts relating to coolant loss. What I know is the top of engine. I can peak in the massive array of Tubes. Removed fans so far but not radiators yet. Pooling coolant on top of block. Not sure looks like thermostat leaks. Includes what appears to be a leak behind the thermostat what looks like a 3/4" tube that I. Think has an o ring. Does one reckon I have enough Tupperware off to get at it as is? Or does one need to take the side panels? Mighty obliged

There is coolant hoses at the base of the carbs. I had a leak there on my 99 due to a loose clamp. Side covers need to come off to get at it.

After looking at the tubes via no fans thingy. I saw thru the hoses a clamp has broken or corroded through. I guess that is a good thing. Wahoo. Now just need to remove one radiator to get to it.

Glad you found the problem. Check out your vacuum lines while you are in there.
