speedo cable

Postby Bigbiker0 » Thu Feb 19, 2015 1:45 pm

I have to replace my speedo cable by a new one already order from cyclamax. Is it necessary to grease the interior before installation and if so what kind of grease to use.

It's not necessary to - but I lubricate mine with dry graphite. I pull the interior cable out, then spray the graphite lubricant down the cable to fully coat it. Then after it's dry, replace the interior cable, and install. I do the same for other cables (clutch, choke, etc).

It is not necessary to lube it but if you do do not apply to much lube, it can and will travel up the cable and get into your speedo and cause you trouble.
