GL 1500 arm rests

Postby diamond90GW » Sun Feb 22, 2015 3:50 pm

New to the site and on my second Wing, its a 1500 1990 SE. Adding the arm rests for my sweetie...how to? Looks like the trunk has to come off to access the bolts that hold the antenna on? Thanks for the help , is there a how to on here :?:

The right & left pockets need to be removed not the trunk. There are 3 screws in the trunk that hold the pockets to the trunk. Then you'll have access to the antenna mounting bolts. Instructions from Show Chrome site:

I have a set of these arm rests, but need the part that attaches to the antennas. Anybody know where I can find a set? Does Big Bike sell the parts, or just the whole setup? Or maybe Show Chrome?

Don't laugh too hard now. After a fellow rider dropped his ride it severely mangled the right mount. He found a set of gate hinges at Lowes that worked. Did have to drill new holes and cut to fit contour at antenna. Sprayed with chrome spray and with the rests being 1" back made his wife happy. Used sets of armrests can be picked up on ebay for $50, but his final cost was about $20. Not a noticeable difference at first glance.
