No smog checks on bikes in CA, Yet! If the bike is coming in from out of state, it may need to be inspected depending on the county you are in.

Also if the transfer is between family members there is no used tax fee. The only thing I have come across on bringing a 1500 wing into Calif from another state is the bike must have 7500 miles on it before it can be registered in Calif. which at this point should not be a problem. The 1500 is NOT a 50 state bike, the 1800 Wing is so it can be brought into Calif with any amount of miles on it.
