Anyone know what led bulb to use in middle two lights on the trunk? The factory bulbs are 3watt,wedge style. :?:

How are your soldering skills? Heres what I used to turn both my trunk and saddlebag rear reflectors into lights. A little heat and some gentle prying lets you remove the red lense so you can stick these strip lights inside. They can be cut into 3 led segments or every 2 inches. The 3528 series make good running lights and the 5050 series are brighter for brakelights/turnsignals. 8-)

I could only find 1 reference to the center lights on the trunk. I replaced mine, but don't remember the bulb #. The reference I found indicated they are regular #194 bulbs, in size, which is a 3.4W bulb. A little brighter wouldn't hurt, in my opinion. It's the base size that matters. I know some of those bulbs down there are not 'standard' and require a rather small based bulb. But, I believe that is the license plate bulbs. Anyway, check out this page for some info on measuring your existing bulb, to determine the base and bulb size.
The videos, and that site should put you on the right track.

Posts numbers 6 & 10 at this link, show the rear of my bike, and the leds I installed in the lower center reflector, as well as the info on the leds I used. The reflector leds are much brighter in the 'brake' mode. I swear by those "Alpena" MAX LEDs.

WA,
Thanks, a good demonstration and explanation. Are the Pulse modulators available, and how hard are they to fit to get them to perform as intended?

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

I designed and built my own. :) I did a quick Google search and found people showing circuits they used to build their own, but I don't see any off-the-shelf modules.
