1990 1500 electrical issue

Postby Wfs1990 » Sun Mar 15, 2015 9:19 am

Brand new to the forum. My 90 GW has an electrical issue that has me stumped. The issue is with the turning lights and turn signals. When I turn left the light and signal work normally. When I turn right both left and right turn lights come on along with the right signal. When the signal is turned off both turning lights stay on. In order to turn the lights off I have to push the turn lever to the left. I've switched the 2 lights and it doesn't change which leads me to think it may be between the switch and light plug but there's no way to get at the wires. Any ideas?

Quite often when a light comes on that is not part of the expected result, it is usually a bad groung somewhere in that system. Seems that it gets back fed trying to find its ground. Electricity flows like water, the path of least resistance. If it can't find its own ground it will flow another way. Hope this helps a little bit.

Good advice! I would suggest checking the ground to the signal lite system. Also check the flasher and its connections for corrosion.
