electrical fault

Postby haydn » Sun Jul 26, 2009 8:39 am

my gl1500 runs well for anything up to 15 mins but then to loses all power. After a minute it appears the battery has some charge but not enough to restart, after 20 to 30 minutes most times i can restart the bike but it can and does stop again after 10-15 mins alsoI cannot set the cruize control wont work (which may or may not be related). I have checked and changed fuses and ignition/cruize relay and the battery appears to be okay. Has anyone else had this problem or knows a solution.

I would check your main fuses (the 30A one and the 55A one) - either may be starting to fail, causing intermittent faults. It's a cheap thing to replace, and if it solves your problem, you're done. They are located behind the right rear cover, near the battery.
