reverse blows fuse

I have a 1993 Goldwing SE.......whenever I put the bike into neutral and then pull the lever up for reverse, it blows the fuse for reverse and all dash lights and temp and fuel gauges right away !! have gone through 3 fuses ----need help...PLEASE....SUGGESTIONS???.... :(

Looking at the schematic, the one component that I see that could cause a short like this (other than the obvious, a shorted/pinched wire) is the starter relay regulator. You need to remove the left saddlebag to get to it:

Starter Relay Regulator
Starter Relay Regulator


Unplug this regulator, then try again and see if the fuse still blows.

thanks.........will start there......just hoping it's something simple (with system being so complex)....my job has me away for a couple of days, will let you know results when I get back...thanks again
