Throttle problems

Postby 2wheels » Tue Apr 21, 2015 9:38 pm

My 89 gl1500 idles fine, runs pretty good on the hwy, and in the light to light city situation, I do about 34 miles to a gallon on a combination of city and hwy riding, but when I try to open the vehicle up on the freeway it gives me the sound of a 4 barrel carb opening up on a Chevy 350, but with barely no acceleration, can someone help me diagnose this problem

Well you're starving for air, fuel or spark. I would start with fuel - have you checked the condition of your fuel filter? It's simple and cheap, I would try that one first.
