Position lights 50watt LEDs

Postby W140amg » Tue Apr 28, 2015 11:31 pm

Received an order from cycle Manx. looks like I prob put the wrong order and got the 50watt LED position light.

They had the 25W and the 50 watt position light bulbs avail. Got the 50s.

will this melt my wires or reflectors?

Blind oncoming traffic?

No problem since they are LED. The 50 watt designation means the LED bulb is putting out light equal to a 50 watt incandescent. Probably only 8/10 watt output from the LED.

By POSITION LIGHTS do you mean the ones on either side of the headlights or the ones down low on the front of the bike ? I think 50 watt by the headlights will be bright as heck, blinding ? Naw, but bright ! People WILL see them, and this is good.
I do not know on the wiring part of your question, but the draw is much less the regular bulbs, so I think it should be ok.

Position lights, the ones next to the headlamp.

they are bluish and as bright as the headlamps.

I don't think the position light reflectors direct the light to the ground as much.

the corner lights or driving lights are the lower ones next to the engine. I will most likely replace those with LEDs next time they go bad.

I purchased LEDs to replace my position incandescent bulbs, but now I don't know if I can use them.I added bulbs to my fairing reflectors and at the same time put the wire harness in place so the markers can blink with the turn signals. Will I have to add relays to get these LEDs to blink ?

FYI, I tested out the 50Watt position LEDs. They look awesome.
Definitely doesn't blind on coming traffic.

When my driving lights (cornering lights) dies, I will also replace them with the 50 watts.

Does anybody have the part # for those 50 watt LED position bulbs? And you can buy them from Cyclemax, not superbright LEDs? Thanks--

$25 each.

Can also get the 25 watt. first I was worried for the 50watt, but hindsight, glad I got the 50w than the 25w.
