GW 1500 1989 US model.
Radio buttons have stopped working.
I have sound through the speakers and text in the display. Sound right now are only noise because it is not selected any radio station. I can not start the tape recorder.
The fault is that I can not change anything with the buttons on the radio. While the button on the handlebar to search channel is also disabled. However I press nothing happens.
I've screwed apart the radio and it's clean and tidy inside.
I have checked all the fuses and they are whole.
I am thankful for the solution to the problem or suggestion to look further.

Thanks for that proposal. The error is the same whether I have the cassette in or not.

Now is the radio function on all the time. There is noise because it is not the correct frequency for any station. At one time when I started the radio searched on the FM band. Then I sound when it passed stations. It did not stop at any station and it might be because I was standing in the garage with a weak signal.

Re: Radio buttons have stopped working on my 1500
If the buttons on the radio panel (not the handlebar) are not responding at all, I'm afraid this points to a problem with the radio itself. You may have to remove it and have it sent for repairs. I'd recommend talking to Sierra Electronics, they do repairs on these radios.
