#12 Relay

Postby wbetheajr » Fri Jun 25, 2010 2:22 pm

I just bought a 92 gl 1100 aspencade and the PO told me the #12 relay goes out a lot on these bikes, he even give me a new one and told me to always keep an extra one on the bike. Can someone tell me what this relay is for and where its located on the bike. Thanks for any help.

I've looked through the circuit diagrams for the GL1500 (and I assume you mean GL1500, not GL1100), and I'm not finding a relay 12 anywhere, let alone figure out what it's for. Anyone else?

I don't know either, but that is what he told me. He gave me one with the bike and I had the honda dealership to run it today and the relay he gave me fits several different places on the bike for different things. Thing is they couldn't tell me what they were for or didn't want to tell me, I don't know.

He might be talking about relay #3. That relay controls lots of lights and has been a problem to some in the past, mostly those with trailers. Anyway, it is just a suggestion but why not go back to the previous owner and get the information from him? He is the one that led you on this wild goose chase to begin with. I am sure he will be able to point you in the right direction.
