Will a swingarm from 1996 honda goldwing fit a 1988 honda goldwing?

I looked on a Honda site and checked OEM part numbers for the assembly and they are definitely different numbers. Both the old # and the new # for both years are different. Hence, I would say no way are they interchangeable. A certified Honda Tech might say different, but from what I can find, my answer stands. Sorry.

Thank You CMReynolds1, I had heard conflicting info. Never thought of looking on the Honda site.

It's tough to tell from Honda part numbers. They could change the vendor of the bearing used inside, and as a result it gets a new part number - even though the part could be 100% interchangeable.

I don't know for sure whether they are interchangeable - however I would be surprised if they are not.
