A couple of questions...When did the gauges, etc fail.....Was it sudden or after some work done to the bike.? A possible pinched brown wire or something unauthorized hooked to it.?
Your "jumper"..what gauge wire is it and where was it hooked to...?
There is a "tail main" relay and a 15 amp fuse for that circuit..A little jumper wire with clip leads can be a #28 gauge wire and certainly get hot trying to provide enough power to operate the system.Being fused at 15 amp,I suspect it could easily be drawing 70% of that normally.
Trust me,a test clip wire from Radio Shack was not intended to carry 10 amp...You'd need at least a #14 wire for that..and be less than 2 foot long.

the gages stop working 6 months ago... it has had work done to it before .. The brown wire on the back of the trike goes through a wire harness into the rear lower hatch ..it had a jumper on it so when u turn the switch on to turn lights on in the back the gages would start working I do know that's not right ...the gages should come on when u turn key on and they don't ....what u think am I making any sence ? everything is back to normal other than gages not working ...and light on tour pack...

I just had all my lower dash light, fuel warning light, oil light, OD light, ect, plus fuel gauge and temp gauge all go out on me today. In my case it was a 15amp fuse that popped. Replaced the fuse and all is well again. Except I am concerned as to why the fuse popped. . . . . :?:

My rule of thumb with fuses is: replace it once. A fuse blowing once could be a fluke, vibration, old age, any number of things. If it blows again...then find the fault and fix it before replacing the fuse again.
