Clutch Chatter

Post by Tagg » Mon May 18, 2015 4:59 pm

Fairly new to the Goldwing GL1500 but I have a question. The bike is a MotorTrike trike and when pulling out from a Stop, especially on an uphill grade the clutch has a small amount of chatter to it. I try to ease it out slowly and rev it as it engages but it just seems to grip (chatter) as compared to a vehicle clutch. Is this normal operation for a bike ? Thanks.

My 93 Goldwing MT trike does the same thing. It seems if I try to take off easy it's worse than if I just gas it an go.

You might want to try changing your engine oil, using a synthetic might help.
