Rev counter failure GL 1500 -88

Postby Jocke » Sat May 23, 2015 6:07 am

Was out driving today and all of a sudden I started hearing a loud whining noise like a bearing going bad. At first I thought it was the speedo cabel or it´s gearbox at the front wheel since the speedo jumps a little at certain speeds but when I came home and parked I noticed that the revcounter just stopped dead at 2000 rpm. Under that no problem but over needle stops at 2000 dead on the line. Now I have had the unit a part for changing to leds so the question is have I broken it and it and need to be replaced or can it be repaired by opening the meter unit again and realine it?

I think I found the fault, a screw that had disapered showed up again by blocking the rev meter, probably made the racqet too. Hope that was all it was. :)
