Postby whosserpico » Sat Jun 13, 2015 10:59 am

I bought a 1998 aspencade 1500 SE its been converted to a trike ( kit is a CSC installed in 2007 ) I just replaced the airshock in the rear it blew a seal , I still have a lot of bounce , The bike has 60,000 miles on it these two shocks sit just ahead of the air shock I just replaced, there shocks with coils over them ! Been told to replace these two shocks gas tank must be removed ? When i push down on bike it bounces atleast 4 times so I'm assuming the shocks are bad ?? I need help on this problem any suggestions would B helpful Thanku Don

Welcome Don, from the Deep Deep South.
Be aware, that the CSC conversions have had quite a bit of trouble/feedback on their trikes. Their customer service appears to be a bit patchy. I have no personal experience, but you should be aware of this.

good afternoon, you perhaps should reach out to trike lady, it seems that she may be able to help you with your shock issues. if you look on the forum under 1500 info, locate the topic "no brake lights" trike lady has a pink trike as her avatar.
Just so that you are aware, BA will not get you any assistance, everyone on this site has been extremely helpful and overly friendly. It seems that people like to laugh and joke but no playing around when it comes to helping a fellow brother/sister of the wind. There are very few problems that can not be solved on this site.
I seems I have forgotten one very important comment " welcome to the world of wingers". I hope you are able to get your solution resolved quickly so that you can enjoy your new toy. :D :D

I would first check the oil level in the shocks - a lack (or low level) of oil will cause the dampers to not dampen properly, resulting in bounce like you are experiencing. Much cheaper than ripping things out and rebuilding, if that's your only problem.

good afternoon whosserpico, yes I got in on your conversation early when our friend from down under mentioned the issues with the manufacturer of your trike kit. It just seems to me a little harsh of a response to some mention of issues with a product. I know he was not pointing any fingers at you or any of your decisions. He was just giving you a heads up. That is what we all do from time to time to assist each other is solving problems, but first we all need to know in which direction we need to start looking. Hopefully Trike Lady has some knowledge on your type of set up. I have no concept of how a trike is set up. Good luck and have a good day.
