Replacement Ignition Key

Postby groundhog79 » Mon Jun 15, 2015 7:14 am

Proud owner of a 1997 Goldwing trike and new to the forum. I would like to get a couple of spare ignition keys made, I have the key number.
Can someone help me out?

Thanks

Your local lock smith is your best option. Often dealers had the key making equipment but did not make good duplicates

I agree with wingman that a locksmith is your best bet.
As with most things, dealers are also a lot more expensive.
You can get the key blanks off eBay cheaper, but you still have to have someone to cut them.
Best to give all the business to someone local anyway.

I found that local key-cutting shops didn't have blanks for Honda motorcycles, so it was a locksmith shop for me, too. Not really expensive (around $5 each IIRC), so it was cheap insurance!

The key blank is a ilco HD75. Lowes or Home Depot should have it.
