Trike needs shocks

Post by peffer » Wed Jun 17, 2015 4:11 pm

Have a 1988 GL1500 with Moto trike kit and I need new shocks. They want $500 for shocks and my question is can regular or auto shocks be put on this bike?

Shocks are shocks. You can put airplane shocks on if you want, if the damping, load and spring rate are correct.

Don't however just pick a shock that happens to fit and bolt it in place, expecting it to give you any kind of decent ride. The springs/shocks must be configured and sized to the application. Whatever the trike manufacturer recommends in terms of damping, load and spring rate should be fairly closely adhered to.
