headlight not workig

Postby rubbenj » Tue Jun 23, 2015 4:09 pm

hi all, I hope someone can help me out. I have a 1996 goldwing trike the high and low beams on my headlight just stopped working for no reason. They don't come on but if i put it in reverse they work both fine high and low. I have checked the relays which check out fine. Any suggestions as to what this could be or what could have caused it. Thank you in advance for any help. Rubbenj

Head relay fuse #12 should be bad..replace it.I think it's by the relays...not positive.

Possible...or it could be a bad ground, that is finding its way to ground when reverse is engaged.

Check the reverse switch by the reverse lever.

Also check the start switch button. If it doesn't release completely it will kill the headlamp. A little wd40 or equivalent will solve the problem. When you move the reverse lever the headlamp will backfeed through it to ground lighting the lamp.
