Can a 1500GL be lowered any?

Yes, but the best option is to shave the seat down in order to gain some height advantage for shorter riders. Shaving the width of the seat also helps greatly.

would like to lower the center of gravity... just a little...not just for stance

what are other options to lower the bike? approximately 3/4 inch or so...

You could use a 195-55-16 car tire on the rear, that would give you at least 3/4"

Front forks could be raised in the triple trees a bit.
Best bet would be to shave the seat foam and run lower air pressure in the rear shocks 8-)
