94 GL1500, lost volume on radio output

Postby twostrokes48 » Sun Jun 28, 2015 9:36 pm

OK guys, I did a really dumb thing I know, but now what. I went to jump my bike as battery was down. I didn't turn the key off and went to hook up the cables. When I did, it blew the main fuse. When I got it replaced, I did not have some of my electrical. A couple other fuses were blown. Got all replaced, but the radio is very very low, as if mute is on. But volume knob has no effect, mute setting has no effect. I swapped out the complete panel with the radio to my 98. The radio worked fine. I put the 98 panel on the 94 and same problem, very very low audio, but no volume control. The mute button no effect either. So, anyone have any idea what could have blown between the connectors of the radio panel and speakers? maybe in the remote controls? I need some ideas please.
Thanks.

Can't find any 5 amp fuse in or around relay box....can someone tell me exactly where that fuse might be? Maybe a pic?
Need to get this problem fixed so I can put it up for sale.

Forgot to let everyone know, found the 5 amp fuse, it was blown, replaced it, radio volume is now fine. Want to thank everyone for their help. The bike is now sold, that little problem was the only thing holding up the sale.
