Fork spring question

Postby made2care » Tue Jul 14, 2015 11:50 am

So this is my first time rebuilding forks and I'm following the "how to" on this. Upon removing the spring which is about 20" I noticed a smaller spring inside of the larger one. Is this stock?
Or is the larger spring a progressive?
The manual shows 2 separate spring with a seat between. I'm confused.
Thanks for your help once again.

From reading the forum the duel springs were an early type of progressive spring set. New progressives are single springs. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28601&p=164333&hilit=Front+springs#p164093
