New Guy with New Questions. New to me...

Postby mrjay62 » Sun Jul 19, 2015 11:53 am

Hi Guys
I bow to You all knowing of hondas ...lol

What I have is a 94 Goldwing 1500SE. Picked it up last month..No service records, Last owner had it park in the garage for almost 3 years.
So I started going thu thing, oil, plugs, filters, etc, Now im at the rear wheel/Final Drive, Cleaned out the old Grease that was drying up and packed hard..
When ordering new o-rings I came across a Dust seal 30x47x8 (NOK)# 91253-443-762
Im not sure if that's one of the O-rings or something im missing...
I found the 2 O-rings on the wheel and a seal on the opposite side of the wheel and one on the Shaft..And one O-Ring on the final drive.
is that it or im missing a Seal??

thanks guys

Unfortunately I cannot answer your question exactly, I have an 1800. But, I looked at the "How-to-Article" section and see two or three articles talking about rear wheel bearings/greasing. Have you checked that part of the site? If not, take a look. It is set up by motor size, not model. Yours is obviously a 1500, so check and see, it looked to me that it may be of help until someone answers you specifically. Good luck!

Thanks I did, check before I posted this question.
Just confused by a part its shows and list as a dust seal... I dont seem to that part on this bike.
so is it not for this bike or is it just missing...
I guess that would be a better question. ?..

1 O-ring on the Final Drive.
2 O-rings on the wheel
1 Dust seal on the side of the wheel , (brake side)
1 seal on the shaft that goes into the Final Drive.

Thanks

They used to be a good site for parts. However lately they have been getting bad reviews for late shipping and no correspondence. They don't seem to be stocking parts and have to order from Mother like most other dealers.

I have used Bike Bandit and been very happy. They also sell most OEM parts too and at a cheaper price! Might give them a try.

Good morning mr jay. Yes a light coating on both parts is sufficient. Too much and it will be wasted because the excess will get slung off. :D :D
