1500 Horn

Post by Daniel Sirry » Thu Jul 23, 2015 7:20 am

Good morning everybody...............I have a few questions that I have about my horn on my 1998 1500SE. Is there anyway I can get the 1800 horns to work on my 1500? I like the sound of them and was hoping there was a easy fix for this. Any ideas would be very helpful.

Thank You very much :)

Very good question...... I was having the same thought since the 1800 horns are way louder than my 1500. By looking at the mounting, the horns will probably mount up, but I am not sure they will clear the lower grill on the 1500. I think upgrading to an air horn or another louder device that will fit the 1500 exclusively would probably be a better choice.

If they're even a tiny bit larger than the GL1500 horns, well, good luck with mounting them in the stock location. It's VERY tight in there! I tried (as have others) to mount Fiamm horns (very stock-looking, and not much larger than stock horns) in there and, without cutting new holes in the fairing (one owner here did that, with great success, though!), it just wasn't possible. External mounts can be done with larger horns, though.
