Headphone opamp

Postby biettie » Sun Aug 09, 2015 1:05 pm

Does anyone have a DIY plan for making a headphone amplifier?
The audio-output of the passenger on my Goldwing 1500 is a bit low and I would like to amplify the sound with a seperate volumecontrol-button.
I did search the internet about it, but as I am a newbie in electronics, I don't really know which one would match my goal.
Thanks in advance.

Before I went wireless I used 2 inline volume controls, one for each of us and ran volume high on audio unit and we could set our own level.

@RBGERSON: I have seen the retail volumecontrol, however it does not amplify the sound.

@Wayne: haven't thought of that yet, great idea!

Another option is give passenger a more efficient set of speakers and less efficient set for you. Most drivers do just the opposite, poor for passenger and best for themselves.

If you are looking for a DIY solution my suggestion would be a website called www.instructables.com. Just search amps and you will get a lot of projects people have already done. And step by step on how they did it, what parts they used.
