Can anyone help a fellow 'Winger out?

Postby Firea100 » Tue Sep 01, 2015 5:34 pm

Good afternoon to all on the site! I have an "88 Goldwing without CB radio. While driving on a rather bumpy road, I hit a chuck hole and lost the "radio delete" plate! It popped out and I wasn't able to find it! Is there anyone out there that has upgraded their ride to include a CB radio and might consider parting with their delete plate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry Gill

If you're talking about a CB controls blanking panel, those jokers are still available from Honda and cost 100 bucks  None on Ebay, either. Cyclemax has this but it says it attaches with tape so probably requires the original panel in place. There's a thread about ideas for the hole here

Yeah, $90.00 is CRAZY for that. I thank all of you for the suggestions. Really wanted an original one to pop in before I sell the trike. again if anyone has one please let me know.

Thanks,

You may want to try a salvage yard for one.

This is just the kind of thing that a 3D printer would be perfect for. $90 is crazy for a piece of plastic that cost 30 cents to produce!!

When I bought my 1500 Interstate (no CB), the PO must have lost that panel as well.
He had taped an aluminum plate to the back of the shelter and put reflective tape over it. I wanted to use the space for a CB knockout panel and had to get a replacement panel for it to work. I did find one on eBay for $40 (wrong color, but didn't matter) and they had several others at the time.
Best bet is to keep searching on eBay and the links that others have provided. Don't know if your 88 has the same part number as my 92, but it is 83149-MN5-0100.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood!
