Tires

Postby chouston99 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 7:59 am

Does anyone have any experience with "Shinko" tires on their 1500? I am looking for a new set of tires for my 1500 and wanted some input.
Thanks

I can't speak for the 1500 but the ones that put them on the 1800 had nothing but trouble with them,. I know they are 2 totally different tires since the 1800 takes radials and the 1500 does not.

I had them on my 1200 and a few other bikes and thought they were one thr better tires I ever used. I am planning on putting them on my 1500 unless you get a lot of bad reviews. Everything I have read was positive on other bikes.

Hi, I am replacing tires right now. I have been advised by the Honda dealership to stay with the Dunlop Elite 3's.

If you are looking for a good inexpensive tire, take a look at the Kenda Kruz. They are heavy duty reinforced touring tires and a good value for the money. I have one on the rear of mine and its wearing like iron, almost 13 thousand miles and still around 70 percent tread. I ruined the front Shinko I had on, hit a pothole on the freeway and it separated, too bad. Any tire will do that. Dunlops are the recommended tire but there are others like Avon that are a good tire as well. Some folks put car tires on the rear, never understood that.
