Starter Motor

GL1500 It starts perfect when it's cold. But when I try to start it when the engine is warm I have troubles. When I hit the starter button nothing really happens, then I hit the button again and it fires up right away. It’s been doing that for the last 3 months and I haven’t worry about it because it always starts. I looked at the starter motor’s brushes and they look fine. Is it the relay?

More than likely it's the battery. GL1500's take a tremendous amount of power to start, and if there isn't enough available in the battery, it will crank, but not start.

The battery is good. When it does crank, it turns the motor over fast and it starts within a second. It’s the first few times I hit the starter button, it doesn’t turn over.

could be your switch is the problem..bad contact pushing it clears it for a bit..is it starting with it all the way in or does it start to crank as you let it out??? Do it slowly and see which it is....

Its not uncommon for the switch to get dirty and need to be taken apart and cleaned
