Fork Brace

Postby mrenfro » Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:46 pm

Just ordered a Blackwing fork brace from ebay. When I install it in a week or so, I'll post the results. My 1500 is pretty stable. I've only ever noticed a wobble under 5mph in a slight turn, but after reading the reviews I could not pass up the chance to make it really solid.

Looking forward to your review. I never had an after market brace on any of my Gold Wings and never saw a need for one, But I guess I don't know if they do anything or not since I never had one to compare it to

No, there's nothing - just the thin piece of metal that goes on the bottom side of the fender, that the screws thread into. That can hardly be called a fork brace.

joeincalif - you might want to read my review on the Blackwing Fork Brace - there are a few people on that thread who have also installed the brace and report on their experiences.

If you have no fork brace right now, I think you would be blown away by the improvement you'd feel after adding the Blackwing brace.

Yep, I checked and I have a superbrace..never had any wobble and I have tested with no hands at various speeds.

I ordered one about a month ago, put it on, and it handles much better in the turns and haven't noticed any wobbling.
