Remote Controls for IPOD

Post by khspe2 » Thu Sep 10, 2015 11:19 am

I installed an auxiliary jack on my GL1500 so that I can play music from my IPOD. It works great, but I want to have the ability to change songs or replay them. The headphone cords that come with IPODs have a device integrated into one of the ear wires that lets you do just this, but this device is too small for use with gloves on - even if I were to adapt my current aux. jack to integrate this device.

Is there a way to design an external control with large switches (perhaps mountable on the handlebar controllers or fuel tank cover) that overcomes this issue? Seems possible.

I think I would buy something like this: ... ingdocs-20

Then disassemble it, and connect some larger, external switches to the microswitches inside of it. Those larger switches could be mounted somewhere on the bike.

This controller might work for you.
It seems to have a lot bigger buttons.

This might give you some ideas, or maybe use their seconary remote controller

Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There's not some trick involved with it. It's pure and it's real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things.
